Filton is a town in South Gloucestershire, England, situated on the northern outskirts of the city of Bristol, about 4.5 miles (7.2 km) from the city centre. The town is centred on Filton Church, which dates back to the 12th century.
Filton has an aircraft connection dating back to the early days of the Bristol Aeroplane Company in 1910. Companies in Filton include BAE Systems, Airbus and Rolls-Royce.
On 26 November 2003, Concorde 216 (G-BOAF) made the final ever Concorde flight, returning to Filton permanently.
Filton is also home to the NHS Blood and Transplant centre.
